Woman’s Dog Cries in Anguish After Discovering Sick Dog in Trash Bag

Scooter, their dog, was horrified by what they discovered.
However, there is a heartwarming update!

A woman walking her dog in Glasgow, Kentucky, came across some garbage on the side of the highway.
She initially mistook it for a tiny fawn.

However, it wasn’t until they got closer that she noticed a dog with blee.

Karen Smith Clark said she and her partner didn’t realize the dog was sick until they got closer.
What they witnessed was “distressing to say the least,” and it agitated their dog Scooter.

“This poor dog appeared to have been thrown from a vehicle window, in a trash bag,” she wrote on Facebook.

“We raced home to get food, water, and gloves…
“When we returned, the dog was wary but not aggressive to me; he wanted water,” she explained.
“It was so upsetting that our dog started crying and whining.”

Clark called local authorities after the dog drank water, and he was taken to the Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA), where he was examined by a veterinarian.

The following morning, Connie Greer, the shelter’s general manager, stated that the dog, now known as “Arthur Buddy,” is responding well despite being very sick.

“Arthur is up and eating and wagging his tail this morning.”
Dr. Thomas evaluated him briefly,” Greer wrote.
“He has a bad yeast infection, hair loss all over his body, mange, and is slightly emaciated,” she says.

“She sees no other visible signs of any other problems,” she added.
“Obviously, he’ll need a lot of TLC and recuperation.”

Because BRAWA is a small shelter, they have asked that people refrain from calling at this time, but they will keep everyone updated on their Facebook page.

“He’s happy, he seems very secure that he’s been found and that someone will care for him,” Greer continued.
He will not be available for adoption until he has recovered, according to her.
They anticipate that his treatment will take about four months.”

Arthur was adopted after spending several months in foster care, and his recovery to full health is incredible to witness.
Look at his gorgeous fur!
We’re so glad he’s found a loving home after such a traumatic experience.
