The poor woman’s paralyzed dog is removed, and she collapses to the floor in tears

Our responsibilities do not change as our dogs age or become ill, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

We hear stories all the time about dog owners “exchanging” their old dogs for puppies.
And sick dogs being abandoned because their owners don’t want to bother with veterinary care or can’t afford it.

There is never an excuse to abandon a dog.
In this story, a dog named Bong started out like most dogs: healthy and active.
But then, seemingly out of nowhere, his back legs gave out and he couldn’t use them anymore.
Instead of getting him the assistance he requires, his owner abandoned him inside a cardboard box!

His cries were heard by a kind older lady.
She dashed to the box and rescued him!
Because she is the town’s elder, the woman known as “Grandma” decided to care for him despite her financial situation.
She fed him her leftovers.
She fashioned a bed for him out of a box and a plethora of blankets.
She also drove him around town to get him some fresh air.
She is madly in love with Bong!!

When Bong wanted to walk on his own, Grandma made him special bandages and used a soft blanket on his legs to keep him safe.
That was all she could do for him, but it was a lot more than his owners had ever done for him!

Grandma adored Bong so much that she wouldn’t even sleep at night unless Bong was nearby and had fallen asleep first!

A group of volunteers came by one day.
They’d heard about Bong and Grandma and wanted to bring them presents.
Bong received a brand new bed as well as some delicious dog food.
They also presented him with some new toys.
Then they gave Grandma the best present ever!

They informed Grandma that they had discovered a medical facility that would assist Bong at no cost to her.
She and Bong should not have to suffer simply because she did not have a lot of money.
Grandma sobbed!

Bong went to his new doctor’s office with his new friends and Grandma.
He had a canine MRI.
The end result was fantastic!
The scans revealed that he had myelitis, which is curable in 70% of cases!

The only drawback was that Bong would require extensive medical treatment and physical therapy.
He would have to stay in the hospital to recover.
Grandma knew it was the best thing for Bong, but she was going to miss him so much.
She sobbed as she kissed him goodbye.
