An underweight, abandoned pit bull puppy was discovered curled up in a plum box by office workers. They were able to get him to a rescue, but the little pup refused to leave the plum box, according to blog.theanimalrescuesite.
Animal welfare workers describe how the little pit bull named Plum was sweet-hearted and friendly, but wouldn’t let anyone take him out of the plum box he was found in in a video posted by The Dodo.
In his box, the puppy appeared to find comfort and security, possibly even a sense of belonging or home. On his official Instagram page, @plumpelstiltskin_, they posted a photo of the little pup curled up in his box on his first day at the shelter.
Plum was taken in by the LifeLine Animal Project, where staff worked to gain the little pup’s trust.
After a while, Plum began to trust the people who were assisting him, which gave him a sense of comfort and security. He finally got out of his box and went exploring!
An employee of LifeLine Animal Project told The Dodo that he quickly bonded with the organization’s employees and that they decided to start his Instagram page. They found a potential adopter after only a month of posting!
The only issue was that the adopter had another dog, and Plum didn’t always get along with other dogs. However, after introducing Plum to the other dog, it appeared to be a perfect match. Plum had finally found his forever home!
They announced the adoption on Instagram, writing, “I’M ADOPTED! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way, and stay tuned for updates on my exciting new life!”
Plum continued to grow, put on some healthy weight, and began thriving with his forever family.
