Rick Kalinowski, a 43-year-old plumber from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, designed this tiny table. He enjoyed watching the squirrels eat every day, so he built them a mini picnic table to enjoy their food.
I’ve been getting up at sunrise for years just to feed the squirrels and fill the bird feeders.I brew my coffee, turn on the morning news, and observe everyone eating.”I buy a variety of nuts and seeds for the squirrels, as well as fresh cut fruit, and it brings me joy, especially in these uncertain times,” Kalinowski explained.
Although squirrels prefer to eat on the ground, Kalinowski designed a slightly more dignified place for them to eat.
I built the picnic bench and hung it on the fence outside my living room window so I could watch the squirrels eat while drinking my coffee every morning.”
He made a tiny picnic table out of scrap wood and nailed it to his fence. He even laid out a tasty spread of nuts on the table for the squirrels to feast on once everything was finished. He now has visitors to his mini table twice a day to enjoy the tasty nuts he has left for them.Thankfully, he didn’t forget to take photos and video of this adorable site, which have gone viral.
After all, Kalinowski’s tiny table was his way of repaying the squirrels for the joy he’d derived from watching them in his yard. And, of course, the cute squirrels reciprocate with full bellies and happy faces.”They appreciate me, and I appreciate them,” Kalinowski said.
This is a fantastic idea for bringing us happiness and improving our mood as a relaxing escapism during these difficult times. If you know someone who is looking for new ways to spend their time, please share this story with them.
