Mama Dog with a Broken Leg Walks 2 Miles with Rescuers to Save Her Babies

Most mothers love their children unconditionally and would do anything for them.
According to ilovemydogsomuch, one dog demonstrated that a mother’s love knows no bounds.

A stray Greyhound with a broken leg was discovered limping around, and rescuers quickly realized why she was fighting for her life: she was a mother.

Vera, the mother dog, was in terrible condition.
She was starving and extremely emaciated, in addition to her broken leg.

Ellen Sobry, a veterinarian who met Vera after a friend, Lianne, discovered her looking for food near a market in Vera, Spain, noticed that Vera was lactating.
She realized right away that Vera had a litter of puppies somewhere.

Ellen Sobry, a veterinarian who met Vera after a friend, Lianne, discovered her looking for food near a market in Vera, Spain, noticed that Vera was lactating.
She realized right away that Vera had a litter of puppies somewhere.

The first thing they did was treat Vera’s injured leg, and then they returned to where she was discovered, hoping she would lead them to her babies.

That’s when Vera started walking, and they were right behind her.
Feet became yards, which became miles.
Vera led them nearly two miles later to a broken-down car near an abandoned house.

They saw them as they peered into the car: Vera’s litter of ten adorable puppies!
Sobry returned Vera and her babies to her vet clinic, where the little family would heal together before being placed for adoption once they were fully healthy.

While Sobry and Lianne did an excellent job of rescuing Vera, the puppies would not have survived without Vera’s unconditional love and dedication!
