In the middle of the night, a dog wakes up a rescuer to say,Thank you

If you’re thinking about getting a rescue dog but need a little more convincing, this article is for you.
Being able to make such a significant difference in an animal’s life is the most fulfilling feeling.
It is not difficult to make a difference in their lives.
Niya, a rescue dog, was one of the worst cases seen at the Gibson County Animal Shelter in Trenton, Tennessee.
She had clearly had a difficult life prior to being rescued, but her new owner arrived just in time to completely change her life.

When Kimberley Slown went to see her, she felt compelled to take her home with her.
Arrow Dog Rescue, Kimberly’s organization, has saved hundreds of dogs, but none have been as heartbroken as Niya.
She had a cut above her eye, indicating that she had a difficult life.
Worse, Niya’s mental state had been harmed as a result of the abuse.

When Kimberly arrived to pick her up, the adorable puppy was so terrified that she sat against the back wall of her kennel, tail between her legs.
Kimberly had to carry Niya, all 47 pounds of her, into the car.
When Niya arrived at her new home, she was exhausted.
She discovered a safe area of the house and spent two nights and one day there.
However, on the second night, Niya’s thoughts began to change.
While her owner’s arm dangled from the side of the bed, she cautiously stepped over to smell it.

Kimberly was overcome with emotion as she awoke to the sensation of warm breath on her hand, realizing that the timid puppy was finally gaining confidence.
“She just breathed into my palm, and I awoke, immediately touching and talking to her.”
“She smiled as she leaned in.”
Niya eventually fell asleep again, but Kimberly awoke to the same thing not long after.

“The same thing happened a few hours later,” Kimberly explained.
“It was thrilling.”
“I burst into tears.”
Kimberly was pleased with herself the first time she smiled – on the way home from the vets.
Soon after, she was placed in her first proper bed, and then – best of all – her tail wagged for the first time.
Niya is gaining confidence as a result of Kimberly, which she would not have if she had remained in the shelter.
