Her dog was found two years later and 1,000 miles away, and she fears he has forgotten about him

Debbie Petranck was terrified when her tiny Pug-nosed Terrier, Zeus, went missing from his backyard in Ocala, Florida.
She combed the neighborhood and made haphazard visits to the city’s shelters, but her beloved dog was nowhere to be found.
Disgusted by the loss, Zeus’s owner began placing a “missing dog” ad in the local newspaper every week.

Debbie received an urgent call from the Friends of the Dearborn Animal Shelter after almost 24 months of Zeus’ disappearance.
She froze in disbelief as she learned that her beloved pooch had been found, and that it had been found over 1,000 miles away in Detroit!
Debbie jumped in her car and drove all the way to the shelter to pick up her baby!

Apparently, Zeus had been living with a man who had picked up the dog as a “stray” from the streets of Florida.
The man later relocated to Michigan with Zeus, but the dog escaped and ended up in Detroit!
He was eventually taken in by a local shelter, and a microchip scan revealed his identity.

Debbie was overjoyed to have found her precious baby, but she was a nervous wreck by the time she arrived at the shelter.
She was terrified that Zeus would not recognize her after such a long time.
But the moment Zeus saw his emotional mother, he jumped up and ran to embrace her!

Zeus and Debbie’s reunion is one of the most touching moments we’ve witnessed in a long time!
This is why microchipping a pet is so important in these times.
