Flight attendants deviate from protocol to save a dog’s life in the middle of the flight

Dogs are unquestionably our guardian angels, and there are numerous stories about their heroic – lifesaving – actions.

Nonetheless, even an angel may require assistance.
When this tiny pup needed assistance, two flight attendants stepped up and saved her life!

When Michele Burt, her husband Steven, and their three dogs boarded a JetBlue flight from Florida to Massachusetts, it was supposed to be a routine flight because they had traveled many times before.
The Burts followed protocol by keeping the dogs in carriers under their seats.
However, shortly after takeoff, Michele noticed that one of her dogs, Darcy, a lovely French Bulldog, was having breathing difficulties.

Michele opened Darcy carrier’s door, concerned, to check on her.
The woman was aware that she was breaking flight company protocol, but her dog’s life was in danger.

“I noticed her tongue was blue, and I know that’s a sign of low oxygen,” the woman later explained.
“I pulled her from under the seat and placed her on my lap to help her relax and cool down because she was panicking and breathing frantically.”

Renaud Spencer, the flight attendant, had no idea what was going on and initially asked Michele to return her dog because flight protocol is extremely strict in these situations.
However, she quickly realized it could be something serious, so she rushed to help, but not immediately.

The two women attempted to cool Darcy down with ice bags, but were unsuccessful.
Renaud, who also owns a French Bulldog, had another thought.
One that, however, violates protocol.
However, she was willing to take the risk in order to save the poor dog’s life.

“She [Renaud] brought a small oxygen tank with a mask attached and said, ‘Maybe this will help,'” Michelle explained.
“”I believe Renaud and Diane saved a life, and while some may discount the value of life because Darcy is a dog, I do not.”

Darcy’s life was saved by the two flight attendants, despite the fact that they had to break the rules.
So, after they arrived and Darcy had recovered completely, Michele decided to write a letter to thank these two wonderful women.
“I wanted to thank JetBlue and Renaud and Diane for doing their jobs while also being wonderful people!”

When the company learned of the situation, it was overjoyed.
They even complimented the two women on their actions!
“Our mission is to inspire humanity,” JetBlue said in a statement.
