If anyone thinks dogs and UPS drivers don’t get along, this story proves them wrong.Even for a Pit Bull and a female UPS driver, love knows no bounds.
Katie Newhouser is a UPS driver who has been in the industry for over 15 years. She’s met more people than she can remember as a result of her job, not to mention dogs. But there is one dog she cannot mistake for another, the one who was once a friend and has now become a family member.
Meet Leo, the Pitbull sweetie who holds a special place in her heart.
Back when Katie first met Leo, he was owned by a lady named Tina, and their bond was unbreakable. Katie’s client dog’s name was Leo.He kept looking for the woman at a location where she frequented at least a few times a month.
“Whenever I’d show up at the complex, he’d apparently go insane and want to come down and see me,” she explained to The Dodo.”For some reason, he took a liking to me.”He was always coming up to lick me.”
The driver’s relationship with Leo and his human lasted a year, until she returned from vacation and visited them one day, only to learn that the dog’s owner had died.
Tina’s son was left in charge of his mother’s dog.He quickly realized, however, that he was unable to provide Leo with the love and affection the dog had grown accustomed to.He was too preoccupied to look after him.
Katie offered to adopt the dog without hesitation, forming one of the most beautiful human-animal friendships ever discovered.
“I knew he had nowhere to go, and I didn’t want him to end up in a shelter with someone who wouldn’t be good for him,” she explained.
Their relationship matured over time.Although Katie had previously owned several dogs, she knew Leo would fit right in and be a perfect fit for her family. The doggie is now living with Katie and his doggie brothers. We know he is surrounded by the love and support he requires.
