Dog trapped inside hot car adopted by officer who rescued it

NEW YORK CITY-A dog who was trapped inside a hot vehicle for more than two hours in New York has been adopted by someone who assisted in his rescue.

According to the New York Police Department, officers were notified last month after Good Samaritans noticed a dog locked inside a hot vehicle.

Officers arrived on the scene to find the car turned off, the windows up, and a distressed dog.According to police, officers broke a car window, rescued the dog, and took it to a veterinarian for treatment.The department announced on Wednesday that the dog had been adopted by an officer who assisted in his rescue.
