Dog Risks His Life To Protect His 16-Year-Old Best Friend From Burglars In His Home

Rex, a 2 1/2-year-old German Shepherd, was shot multiple times on February 21 in Es Moines, Washington, while guarding his house and his closest companion from burglars.The brave dog who put his life in danger to protect his 16-year-old owner Javier from the two intruders was severely beaten.

According to Q13 FOX, Javier heard someone enter the house.While hiding in the closet, the adolescent dialed 911.According to the man, Rex was determined to defend him and raced downstairs to fight off the dangerous men, despite his best efforts to convince the dog to stay with him.Rex screamed, according to Javier, when he heard gunshots.

“The two robbers fought and punched him as hard as they could.Rex stormed upstairs to see his master, who despite being battered and bleeding from the beating, was still cowering in the closet.

Rex charged the robbers as they approached the room where Javier was holed up.Despite the fact that he was bleeding and in pain, he felt compelled to do whatever it took to save his closest friend.After the brave dog had been severely battered and shot several times, police sirens eventually scared the would-be burglars away.
