Nora had won the hearts of her two dogs, Basset Hounds Gracie and Grumpy, in just five months.
“Gracie, in particular, took on the role of second mother,” Mary Hall told ABC News.
“Whenever Nora cried, Gracie would rush over to see what was wrong.
She was always by Nora’s side, kissing her and making sure she was okay.”

As the family prepared to say goodbye to Nora, The Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis asked if there were any last wishes.
“Yes,” said Nora’s parents emphatically.
They were curious if their two dogs could say their final farewell to their baby girl.

“I asked, ‘Could you please let us have our dogs [at the hospital]?'” Hall explained.
“I didn’t want to go home and have them sniffing around for her with no idea where she went.”
They lowered the bed so the dogs could lie next to her, and Gracie ran up and licked her.”

“It was really nice,” Mary commented.
“It gave us a lot of comfort.”

Every day, Gracie and Grumpy provide comfort to their family.Sweet Nora, rest in peace.
