A sickly homeless dog closed his eyes, relieved that he was finally safe for the first time

Hope For Paws received a call about a sick homeless dog living on the border between the United States and Mexico who needed immediate medical attention, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

When rescuers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the man who had called them and discovered that the homeless dog had taken a liking to the man’s dogs and had decided to stay.
The man tried to feed the puppy as often as he could, but he required much more than food.

Rescuers coaxed him with food before slipping a leash around him. They decided to name this sweet pup “Pax.”

Pax let them pick him up and put him in their car without resistance. He was happy and relieved to finally be rescued.

They took him to an animal hospital to be treated for his ailments, which included skin, ear, and eye infections, mange, and open wounds.

He was extremely cooperative and allowed them to treat him as well as give him a medicated bath to aid in the healing of his skin.

Soon after, The Forgotten Dog Foundation assisted Pax in finding the ideal forever home!
Pax’s wounds have healed and his fur has regrown.
He appears to be a lovely dog who is overjoyed to be with his new loving family.
