A brave dog saves a friend from drowning in a swimming pool

Chucky, a 13-year-old Pomeranian, was out walking when he noticed something in the distance.
He was so preoccupied with what he was seeing that he didn’t notice where he was stepping and fell into the pool.Melissa and Byron Thanarayen, along with their two other dogs, Jessie and Ponco, live in a house with an outdoor swimming pool. They’ve been there about five years and have never had an issue with the dogs or the pool.”My wife and I were driving to a meeting.”When we returned, we noticed Chucky’s head was wet.We looked everywhere in the house for a spot where he could have gotten wet, but we couldn’t find anything.”

Finally, they made their way to the security cameras to review the footage. That’s when they figured out what was going on.Chucky had fallen into the pool after slipping. He desperately tried to escape by paddling his arms, but he couldn’t.He tried everything he could think of to get out of the pool, but he couldn’t.He was doing everything he could to avoid drowning, but he was in a critical situation.Chucky’s friend heard the noise and came to his aid a few minutes later.Jessie, a 7-year-old black Staffordshire terrier who had been rescued, came to help the dog.She dashed to Chucky’s side of the pool and did everything she could to save him.

She wasn’t sure what to do at first, but she soon devised a solution. She’d get him to swim to the edge of the pool, where she’d try to grab him with her mouth and pull him out.Jessie tried several times, but Chucky slipped out of her grasp each time. She, on the other hand, was never defeated. She didn’t get a good grip on him and pull him out of the water for another 34 minutes.

As hard as it is to see Chucky struggle to swim and keep his head above water, it is incredible to see his friend, Jessie, pull him out of the pool and save him.”Jessie is a hero in our eyes!”We adopted her from the Boksburg SPCA five years ago. It’s amazing how she went from being rescued to rescuing others.”Melissa and Byron report that the dogs are doing well.Jessie had a wonderful rescue, and her little pal Chucky is now content to play and run around as a result of her!Check out the video for more information, let us know what you think, and don’t forget to share it on social media.
