Every shelter dog dreams of finding their own home, and nothing beats the moment they are eventually adopted. Unfortunately, the moment does not always continue, and the animals are returned to the shelter.
One long-term shelter resident was recently adopted only to be returned three hours later. But now he has a second opportunity at a happy ending.
Bronco, a 2-year-old Catahoula leopard dog, was found chained up during an FBI homicide investigation and brought to the Humane Society of Tulsa in June.According to Newsweek, he was rescued together with 13 other dogs and 31 poultry who had all been neglected and had no access to food or water.Despite his difficult upbringing, Bronco is a lively and athletic dog with a “energetic spirit and heart of gold.”
However, no one seemed to want to adopt this adorable dog: months passed, and Bronco became the shelter’s longest resident.Bronco’s lengthy wait appeared to be over on Saturday, when “the most amazing man” arrived at the shelter to adopt and bring him home.
But the happy ending was short-lived: three hours later, the man returned Bronco to the Humane Society of Tulsa because the guy’s other dog was “not welcoming to him.”It just wasn’t meant to be, and Bronco was back where he started. “Bronco is losing hope,” wrote the shelter. But she didn’t give up and kept looking for the perfect permanent home.
Bronco’s tale went viral, and just a few days after his sorrowful homecoming, another adopter from Nebraska contacted him and asked to adopt him!
According to a Facebook post from October 24, the family owns a 10,000-plus acre ranch and has previous expertise with the breed, making them an ideal candidate: the Humane Society stated that Bronco will be “spoiled” in his new home.
We’re overjoyed that Bronco has finally found a forever home! Thank you to everyone who assisted with his adoption!
