When Carly and Jackie first met Poppy, she was lying on the sidewalk in Mexico.Poppy was skittish at first, but when Carly got closer, Poppy just kind of leaned into her.
They clicked right away. As Carly and Jackie drove the black pit dog to the vet, she caressed her and assured her that she was safe.Poppy was held by the vet for two days, during which she was examined and given a flea bath.
Carly and Jackie visited Poppy at the vet every day she was there. On the drive home from the vet, the cutest thing happened.
Poppy was overjoyed to be out of there and in the care of her wonderful rescuers. The entire way home, she clutched Jackie, who was driving. And she refused to let go. And she was all smiles the whole time. It was simply too lovely and wonderful to put into words.
When Poppy arrived at Carly and Jackie’s residence, she immediately made herself at home.”She kind of came in the house, jumped on the couch, and laid down,” Jackie explained to The Dodo.”She’s very laid-back and doesn’t like to do anything out of the ordinary.” She simply enjoys sleeping. That’s exactly what she did when we first brought her home.
Poppy went into labor from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Jackie had never delivered puppies before, but Carly had some experience.“They just kept coming!” Jackie said.
A pit bull litter can have between five and ten puppies, according to Dog Leash Pro.Sometimes up to 14 years old.Poppy was a wonderful mother. On top of nursing her babies, she would love and cuddle them. Jackie and Carly were quickly smitten by this large pit bull family.
“They’ve made my days a lot happier,” Jackie explained.
Nonetheless, they would all require loving forever homes at some point.
Jackie and Carly were able to find new homes for each and every one of Poppy’s puppies. That’s because Jackie and Carly already had a loving home for Poppy: their home.
