Humans sometimes forget that dogs, like humans, have feelings.They can be happy after a good day spent with their pals, but they can also be heartbroken when they discover that the man who was meant to be their best friend is mistreating them.
Many people take their sentiments for granted, believing that just because they are animals, they do not need to be treated with care and respect.Unfortunately, many dogs that are subjected to this type of cruelty lose faith in all humans, making it difficult for those who wish to help them because they must reestablish that trust from scratch.
Kelly spent a year and a half hunting for a dog to foster, never expecting to find the ideal companion for her.Unfortunately, the dog had met several terrible hoomans before Kelly, which made him quite shy and hesitant.

The puppy, named Walt, had no idea how to behave in front of his new owners. He had no notion what it was like to be loved and have a home…so much so that he even refused to enter his new house, making himself sleep and live outside.
Even after he mustered the bravery to enter the house, he remained in the hallway, unwilling to visit other rooms.He just sat immobile for hours staring at a wall, not wanting to disturb anyone.
“And even, like, when I touched him to comfort him, he was cowering away from me because he was afraid I was going to hurt him,” she went on to say.
Kelly did everything she could to show Walt that he was finally secure, soothing him and laying up a bed for him to sleep in.However, poor Walt had no notion that the bed was for him, so he continued to sleep on the floor.
Walt even began playing with Kelly all the time, devising his own jumping game that encouraged her to interact with him more and more, cementing their bond.
When she came to the back yard with him, Walt would begin running in circles around her, kicking up the grass with his quick zoomies.
Walt also warmed up to Kelly’s other dog. Even though his furry sibling is much smaller than him, the two have found the right balance in their bond.Kelly could not contain her delight as she realized she had finally provided him with the loving home he deserved all along.
Walt is finally living the life he always deserved.Walt has transformed from a dog who avoids eye contact at all costs to one who wants to spend the entire day with his favorite hoomans.
