Another story from Reddit: Hello folks, need a little guidance. We’ve quite recently begun encouraging a little 10 pound salvage hound named Sofia. She was found wandering the lanes with her sibling, and he was taken to an alternate non-permanent parent.
She went to our home the previous evening and we gave her very own cover and let her be. She is so frightened of everything. She coexists with our own pooch Fish and will in general stick close by. She won’t let me or my boyfriend touch her. She just runs away. The only problem is, we’d like to get a harness on her so we can take her out of the apartment and out for a walk. She won’t even let us get close enough to put the harness on, without either snapping at us or running away.
Now I find that I’m a bit nervous approaching her because I don’t want to get bitten. Possibly she’s detecting that? Starting at now she’s setting off to the washroom out on our porch which she meanders all through unreservedly. We’d recently prefer to allow her to go out on a legitimate walk. We wouldn’t fret giving her space, however unquestionably she should be strolled. Any exhortation? Do you think she’ll in the end become acclimated to us enough to let us chain her up?
