A transport driver spared a family hound from being stolen after the future pooch cheat jumped on his transport. Portland transport driver Mike Thomas is a transport driver with TriMet in Portland, Oregon. From the minute he state he saw a man strolling a yellow Labrador Retriever amidst the road, during the evening and without a chain he got an inclination that something simply wasn’t right.
For their wellbeing, Thomas offered the man and the canine a lift, however when the man left the pooch and climbed onto the transport himself, Thomas doubts were additionally raised. Thomas inquired as to whether the 4-year-old Lab was his puppy and the man said yes. “He stated, ‘Indeed, yet he’s OK.’ I stated, ‘No you have to get your puppy, he’s in the street.’ So he called,” Thomas disclosed to KGW News. “He said ‘come here,’ yet he didn’t state the pooch’s name. The puppy returned and he pulled the canine on by the neckline.”
Then to add to the strangeness, Thomas caught the man offer to pitch the pooch to a lady on the transport. Thomas realized what he needed to do. Following an hour on the transport the man needed to get off, however when he did Thomas ventured forward and demanded keeping the pooch, whose name is Cooper, on board. “I got Cooper’s neckline and said the puppy’s going to remain with me. I would get him back to his family.” And Thomas did. Cooper’s mother, Jane Murphy, was excited when she was reached by Thomas. Jane was in the midst of some recreation in Hawaii when Cooper disappeared and was being thought about by her child at the time. He was at work that fateful night and neither Jane nor her son know how Cooper was snatched.
But both are very happy and grateful to Thomas for stepping up and saving Cooper. Murphy told KGW that her heart is warmed by his actions saying, “It brings great pride that there are some really good people in this world. Who are willing to go out that extra mile for our four-legged animals.” She was reunited with Cooper and got to meet Thomas to say thanks in person in the video below. It is heartwarming that there are people like Thomas looking out for others, including our fur friends.
