A Giant Schnauzer, the first ever to be prepared for police work in Canada, has passed away. A Tweet went out on the @SaskatoonPolice K9 Unit account expressing, “With crushing sadness we lament to educate you that resigned #psdtyr has passed away. We express gratitude toward him for his long periods of commitment to serving our community.”
Although there is no sign of how he kicked the bucket or the age of the pooch, named Tyr, his essence will be painfully missed. On Facebook, they shared, “Our contemplations are with his handler and their family, and express gratitude toward them for their commitment to guarding our locale.” According to the pooch’s handler, Const.
Chad Malanowich, Tyr was social but when it came to work, he was all business. Tyr graduated in September of 2012 from the canine officer preparing program.Giant Schnauzers have been utilized abroad for a long time in police work, yet Tyr was the first of his sort in Canada.
