Earlier this month, staff at Stray Rescue of St. Louis received a call that broke their hearts. It was from a new homeowner who was getting ready to move into his new place. “I just bought a house and there is a pit bull chained up in the basement,” he said. “I’m not sure how long it’s been down there.”
It was just another day at Stray Rescue of St. Louis when they received a call unlike any other: “I just bought a house and there is a pit bull chained up in the basement. I’m not sure how long it’s been down there.”Rescuers showed up to find a smiling pit bull staring up at them from the bottom of the steps. Despite everything she’d been through, she was extremely friendly!
After freeing the dog from the basement, they went down to see how the poor thing had been living. The chain was very short, and there was a lot of poop meaning that she’d been down there for a while. But that was now the past. As soon as Jumping Bean got a taste of freedom, she went crazy jumping around all over the place. Even in the vehicle during her freedom ride, the pit bull continued to show her appreciation for being rescued.
