In July 2018, one of the organizers of Romania-based safeguard aggregate Howl of a Dog was in the opportune place at the perfect time to spare an existence. The rescuer was driving home from the veterinary center with one of the save gathering’s canines, Archie. As she drove down a nation street, she happened to detect a dark and darker pooch scrounging through a few branches. She could see the majority of poor people, starving pooch’s ribs. The canine was likewise holding his front leg fumblingly—it was plainly broken. The rescuer immediately pulled over to the side of the street. She called to the dog, and he immediately came over to her, going as fast as he could on his three good legs. When he reached the rescuer, he jumped straight into her arms!
This smart, friendly dog seemed to immediately realize that the rescuer was there to help him. The rescuer decided to name the sweet dog Vlad. She grabbed a leash from her car, and Vlad let her put it around him. Then, she led him into the car and drove him home. As they were driving, the rescuer realized how hungry poor Vlad was: “He was so hungry that he desperately grabbed a box of tissues we had in the car and tried to eat them,” the rescuer said in a YouTube video. When they got to Howl of a Dog’s rescue center, the rescuer quickly gave the hungry pup food. Then, she took him for an x-ray to find out what was wrong with his front leg. Vlad had a double fracture, most likely the result of a car accident. The vet guessed he got the fracture about a week before, and the rescuer’s heart sunk as she imagined the poor dog limping around for a week. Vlad went in for surgery a few days later, and everything went well! As he was recovering, the rescuers at Howl of a Dog gave him all the treats and head scratches he wanted. After a few weeks with Howl of a Dog, Vlad’s leg had almost healed, and he had gained weight. He loved running around the big backyard at the rescue center, and he also enjoyed hanging out with the woman who rescued him.
