Veteran Thinks He’s Being Honored At Football Game, Gasps As He Finally Gets Service Dog Instead

He served two tours in Iraq as a combat medic. Steve DeVries brought home many medals and honors for his service, one of which was the Global War of Terrorism service medal. DeVries was also seriously wounded during combat in 2007 when an explosive device went off under the vehicle he was riding in. He suffered a major spinal injury. He was medically retired from the Army in 2013 and had a hard time adjusting to life.

He suffers from anxiety and has difficulty moving because of his injury. DeVries has been on a waiting list for 18 months to get a service dog. DeVries and his daughter are Giants fans and they were chosen to be honored at a game between the Giants and the Eagles on November 6, 2016. The Semper K9 United War Veterans Council and American Humane Team had a big surprise! Wait until you see what happened!

He experiences uneasiness and experiences issues moving as a result of his damage. DeVries has been on a sitting tight rundown for year and a half to get an administration pooch. DeVries and his little girl are Giants fans and they were been respected at an amusement between the Giants and the Eagles on November 6, 2016.
