A black Labrador mix named Abby has vanished for at least 10 years ago, but much to her family’s surprise, she simply reappeared recently. The long-lost dog showed up on a nearby resident’s porch, located just 10 miles away from where she was last spotted by her family members in Apollo, Pennsylvania! Abby’s owner, Debra Suierveld, had been certain that Abby was dead after her sudden and devastating disappearance years back. “We thought she had passed away. It feels like a part of my kids’ childhood is back, part of our family is back. It’s pretty awesome,” Debra remarked happily.
The last time Debra saw Abby, the dog was playing with her children near the woods – in their own backyard. Then, she suddenly vanished, until she was seen by a man named George Spiering – right in front of his house. He had spotted a big dog on the porch right where people could just walk up – it was Abby! George phoned both the local police and animal rescue to pick Abby up. She was micro-chipped, and this aided her reunion with her overjoyed family shortly after she was found. Abby would lie on the floor and cross her paws, and she even remembers her owner’s daughter’s commands – as well as everything she was taught previously. The family now has an insider joke that Abby was actually involved in a witness protection program. They’re thrilled with her return, and plan to have a welcoming home-based party in her honor very soon! According to her family, Abby hasn’t changed much – she is still friendly, mellow and in good health!
