There is nothing a puppy loves more than being with their human. Because puppies are tiny and cute, depending on the breed, there can be a huge issue with overbreeding in puppy mills. The issue isn’t just too many puppies in one space. According to PETA, breeding puppies for profit can come at a high cost. The puppy’s health. One health issue that many breeders have seen is Swimmer’s Syndrome. The condition is where the puppy is splayed out on their belly and cannot walk. Sadly, Swimmer’s Syndrome is like a death sentence to most puppies, especially ones that are with people who do not have the time to care for a sick animal.
When Casper was born, his breeder immediately realized something was wrong with him and scheduled for him to be put to sleep. But then Gina Gould got a call from Coastal German Shepard Rescue letting her know about Casper. Rather than let everyone give up on Casper, Gina immediately stepped in. Gina, an Acuscope Biotechnician, got Casper and brought him to a veterinarian.
Gina feared that Casper wouldn’t even make it through the night, but when she woke up the next morning, it was like she was meeting a brand new puppy.
As you can see in the video below, with love, therapy, and special attention and care, Casper made an incredible recovery!
